Microphlebectomy For Varicose Veins

New Jersey Endovascular Therapeutics

Microphlebectomy, also known as ambulatory phlebectomy, is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove bulging varicose veins through tiny skin openings. This treatment is highly effective for veins that are too large to respond to sclerotherapy and can provide both cosmetic improvement and relief from symptoms such as aching, heaviness, swelling, and discomfort.

During the procedure, the treatment area is numbed with local anesthesia, and the affected veins are carefully removed through small incisions that are typically so small they do not require stitches. The procedure is performed in the office and generally takes less than an hour, depending on the extent of treatment.

Patients are able to walk immediately after the procedure and return to their normal activities within a short period of time. Mild bruising, swelling, or tenderness may occur during the healing process but typically resolves over the following weeks.

Microphlebectomy offers long-lasting results and can significantly improve both the appearance of the legs and the symptoms associated with varicose veins.
